NASPP’s annual conference and exhibition always offers a great opportunity to network, hear from industry professionals, reconnect with peers and chat about the latest equity compensation innovations and trends. This year’s event is scheduled to take place in San Francisco (October 14-17), a city with a lot to offer.
Bodega SF – For dining with friends
A 5-minute walk from Powell Stations this is traditional northern Vietnamese cuisine served up as a modern, casual fine-dining experience. Flavor is the order of the day here with the phở in particular a firm favorite. If you’re going as a group the family-style concept allows visitors to sample a wide variety of authentic and creative dishes, perfect for sharing with friends.
Pacific Cocktail Haven – For something tropical
Understated and tiki bar might not be words that you often see together, but that’s what makes PCH stand out. The chilled vibes of this no reservations Union Square venue will have you shedding the work thoughts as soon as you walk in the door. Offering an extensive cocktail menu inspired by Asian-Pacific flavors it’s the perfect place to relax while sipping a Kung Fu Pandan, Golden Opportunity or Kinako Sidecar.
Breadbelly – For breakfast
A visit to this combination bakery and café in the Richmond will help make sure that you’re all set for a day of networking. Their sweet and savory pastries are inspired by Asian and American culinary traditions, but come with a contemporary Californian twist. Be sure to check out their kaya toast spread with creamy rich jam for a true taste sensation. There’s even an online menu option so if you’re rushing to get to NASPP you can order ahead for pick-up – sorted.
Little Shucker – For seafood lovers
Located in Pacific Heights Little Shucker is a must-hit destination for Happy Hour if you’re a shellfish fan. Grab a high stool at the counter or enjoy oysters on ice with friends outside while watching the world going by. Be sure to get there early if you’re after the lobster rolls though because they’re made in limited quantities each day.
Lion’s Den Lounge And Bar – For something spooky
Said to be haunted by the ghosts of several gangsters this Chinatown haunt is a must-visit if you like your boos. With karaoke and live bands on during the week this venue attracts a wide range of ages, but don’t be frightened, just loosen your tie, kick off those heels and bust out your dancing shoes.
